hey! if you're here from my sunday puzzle, thanks so much for solving it! I was sooo nervous about it and still haven't really checked any comments or reviews, but I feel much more relieved after hearing that some of my friends liked it 💗💗

sorry for being so inactive, the start of the semester is tragic for me and my hobbies. hoping I can at least post every few weeks to keep this active.

so, in honor of my debut puzzle from june, here's a triple stack from months ago! tbh I procrastinated on cluing it for too long, so it's not test solved or edited, and sorry if there's any imperfections. just wanted to get something new out there for anyone stopping by to show that I'm alive!!

hi there!! here we are again, officially a month in!! typing this while fighting literal demons (coronavirus) right now... i should be in oregon enjoying my last week of summer break 🥲🥲 but anyway, feeling proud for still grinding and getting this week's themeless out!

fun fact, this is my first puzzle with a 🌱 seed 🌱 entry. also, probably my first 68 word puzzle, and i think it's quite clean 💪👯

[crossword girl summer] themeless #4

hey guys! just finished my final week of work for the summer, very bittersweet. made this puzzle in the 5 hour drive back home, about to attend outside lands tomorrow, life is good?

this puzzle, on the other hand, is nerve-wracking to put out... especially because now I feel like I have to constantly outperform my crosswords from previous weeks. the fill is smooth, though, and it's certainly on the quirky/fresh/silly side, so that's something!! as always, thanks for solving 💝💝💝 it means more than you could ever know 💘💗

[crossword girl summer] themeless #2!!

Hey everyone! Second puzzle for the blog, a silly 5 spanner puzzle I struggled to make back in the winter lol. Thank you to everyone that solved last week's, and for the very thoughtful criticism and feedback <3 Wayyy more people solved it than I expected, and I'm incredibly grateful for that!

Anyway, it's almost August, which is crazy and filling me with dread because I'm about to start my junior year of college 💔💔💔 but I'm savoring this last month of summer and grinding my research project + crosswords + hobbies + quality time with friends while I still can :D honestly did not think I'd get a puzzle out this week, but here it is!!

I'm a bit nervous to share this one because I hated parts of it for months – and I'm still working on highlighting my "voice" through my clues, I feel like I stifle my own creativity a lot (rip). But here it is anyway... it has redeeming qualities, I swear 👀👀👀 As always, let me know what you think! Hope you all had a restful and restorative weekend!!

[crossword girl summer] themeless #1 and an introduction!

Hey! Not too sure how to do this whole blog thing, but here we are... 😻 It's crazy to think back to one year ago, when I made my first crosswords. I feel so lucky to have shared my puzzles with so many people this year, and hope I can continue doing that :) I'm making a blog to put my crosswords "out there" without publication. Of course, getting published is fun and validating and a good way to make some extra money, but I also don't want it to be my sole motivation.

I'm somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to fill, mostly because I am a terrible solver and can't stand including any crosswordese (that would make me irrationally mad to see in someone else's puzzle) in my own puzzles. And that's mostly served me well, but it's also held me back from cluing a handful of puzzles that I felt weren't "good enough" or worthy of finishing. 

I'm tired of hating disliking every puzzle I make and feeling dread instead of excitement whenever I think about them. I want to embrace the whole "to be cringe is to be free" mindset and find confidence in my voice. Hence, crossword girl summer! #crosswordmaxxing

I'll (ideally) be publishing a themeless every week this summer, no matter how much some aspect of it irks me. And maybe I'll be sharing them into a void because why should I expect anyone to take time out of their day and try some random girl's crosswords... But maybe a person or two will actually enjoy them! 😆
