I truly believe that hobbies/interests are the only way to stay sane while in college, so here are some of my favorites! To be honest, I'm constantly stuck in a cycle between hyperfixation and abandonment... I miss being unemployed ππ
π₯ MODULAR ORIGAMIπ₯
pros: can be done while watching TV, very pretty, kinda meditative
cons: takes forever, it's lowkey a struggle to put together... requires some commitment
π€ READING π€
pros: anti-brainrot, learning about the world and empathy, and whatnot
cons: requires mental clarity and focus that I often lack
here are my top 5 books, call me basic but they're popular for a reason...
π FOOD π
pros: #needthat
cons: can be expensive :(
yeahhh some might say this isn't a hobby but food brings joy and if you disagree then you need to try some korean food!πππ
here are my recommended korean foods that aren't just kbbq or bibimibap (source: korean person)
- μλλΆ μΉκ°, soondooboo: (soft tofu soup, most popular chain in the US is BCD Tofu House)
- λΆλμ°κ°, budae-jjigae (army stew, comfort food)
- λ‘λ³Άμ΄, tteokbokki (hot and spicy rice cakes)
- λ¬Όλλ©΄, naengmyeon (cold noodles in chilled broth, super refreshing)
- μ§μ₯λ©΄, jjajangmyeon (noodles with blackbean sauce)
π WATCHING MOVIES π
pros: ideal for someone with no energy, usually free, can change your life
cons: can send you down a spiral
follow me on letterboxd! here are some of my top movies
π COLLECTING SEAGLASS π
pros: free, you're at the beach, can be used for jewelery/gifts
cons: you're at the beach (sand), back pain
